Junior Kitchen Manager – Butlin’s Buffets Department, Skegness

About the Role

We’re looking for a Junior Kitchen Manager to join the Butlin’s Buffets Department based in Skegness.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager, you will support the running of the kitchen and assist in leading a large team of talented chefs—including stepping in for the Kitchen Manager when absent. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a passion for exceptional guest experience, monitoring performance, and developing action plans for continuous improvement in your venue.
  • Leading a team effectively with daily briefings, stock control, and ensuring the high presentation of food.
  • Delivering financial performance through food cost budget management, precise menu planning, and adherence to cooking standards and specifications.
  • Supporting food hygiene standards, health and safety, and compliance with legislation and company policies.
  • Acting as a role model for Butlin’s culture, by ensuring training schedules and performance plans are in place and empowering your team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.

The role involves managing a team in our main buffet restaurant, which serves up to 3000 guests per service under a half-board dining package. You’ll help lead and develop a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
