Job Overview

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

Please see below for detailed job description of the role.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Breast Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) to lead the development and delivery of specialist breast pain pathways and clinics within our Breast Services team. You will join an established and forward-thinking ACP team that is continuing to grow and evolve. The team is committed to delivering high-quality, autonomous practice while actively contributing to service innovation and pathway redesign. You will be supported by experienced ACP colleagues and have opportunities to collaborate, share best practice, and further develop your leadership and clinical skills. This role offers the chance not only to contribute to a developing service but also to help shape the future direction of the Breast ACP practice within the organisation.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner with a strong background in breast services, including having worked independently in assessment and management within Two-Week Wait (2WW) clinics and family history pathways. You will demonstrate a high level of clinical competence in the assessment of breast symptoms, with the ability to provide safe, effective, and patient-centred care across a range of presentations. A recognised Master’s level module in Clinical Breast Examination is essential, alongside a commitment to maintaining advanced clinical skills and up-to-date knowledge in breast care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
