The Role
As a Breathing Apparatus Trainer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering hands-on, safety-critical training that directly supports the operational readiness of London’s frontline fire crews. This is your opportunity to make a real impact — helping learners develop essential skills, supporting their confidence, and contributing to safer communities.
Day-to-day Responsibilities:
- Delivering core firefighter skills training, including Breathing Apparatus and Level 3 apprenticeship modules.
- Assessing learner performance and providing constructive feedback to support progression.
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment following Fit to Train, safety, and welfare policies.
- Managing learner welfare issues and escalating concerns via established safeguarding procedures.
- Ensuring training resources and equipment are suitable and raising any issues with senior colleagues.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.

Role Details
This is a full-time, onsite role working 37.5 hours per week based at Park Royal, near London. You will be working Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends.
Essential Experience
- Training or assessing qualification at Level 3 or above (can be obtained through Babcock).
- Experience teaching, coaching, assessing, or presenting to groups of adults (desirable).
- Fire-related background or operational experience (advantageous).
- A passion for training, with an adaptable and engaging approach.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
