Salary up to £36,000
Hyde is looking for an experienced Bricklayer - Groundworker to join our busy Property Maintenance team.
As a Bricklayer - Groundworker at Hyde, you’ll be working in our homes carrying out day-to-day repairs and maintenance. You’ll be trusted to get jobs done right first time and to treat our customers with respect in their homes.
If you’re a hands-on tradesperson who can turn their hand to a range of jobs and takes pride in doing things properly, we’d like to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Carrying out multi-trade repairs including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general maintenance
- Erecting and repairing fencing and gates, repairing concrete floors, and addressing issues in garden areas
- Following work orders and reporting back on progress and materials used
- Always working safely and following Hyde’s health and safety procedures
- Providing a professional, friendly service to customers in their homes
- Repointing old or damaged mortar joints, replacing broken bricks/blocks, and repairing walls, chimneys, and structural features
- Excavating, repairing, and re-installing drainage systems, flagging (paving), and edging to paths and driveways

What We’re Looking For
- Solid experience across multiple trades, especially carpentry, plumbing, and plastering
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Able to work independently and manage your own workload
- A practical problem-solver who can spot issues and fix them properly
- Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude
- Physically fit and happy with hands-on work
- Experience working in social housing is a bonus
- A full, valid UK driving licence
Skills And Experience
- Proven experience in multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, plastering, and general maintenance
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools
- Knowledge of trade-specific techniques, materials, and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour
- Experience working in social housing is desirable
- Valid driver's licence
