BSL Plus Limited are looking to hire:

A British Sign Language Communication Support Worker (aka Assistant) with a minimum BSL Level 3 certification.

BSL Assignments – (Includes);

  • Provide Access to Work BSL Provisions to our Deaf staff on site or in-house
  • Provide BSL and/or SSE communications support to Deaf Service Users
  • Have clear speech and deliver adaptations of provisions in line with the Service Users support needs
  • Empower, encourage and promote confidence, independence and successes to your allocated Service Users
  • Provide daily feedback to your Line Manager
  • Transport Service Users to and from Assignments
  • Be prepared to travel the UK where required
  • Be prepared to take on weekend and evening work where required

Admin aspect – (Includes);

  • Have clear, written communication skills with adequate grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Be computer literate
  • Familiarise yourself with the latest news, events and social gatherings and report to your Line Manager (Enterprise Resource Planning)

In addition – (You will);

  • Work alongside our Quality Control Supervisor on-site where required
  • Be placed on relative training courses and be shadowed on-site
  • Require a clean driving license and your own car
  • Provide the logistics aspect to Service Users where required
  • Remain flexible and willing to travel wherever necessary for Assignments
  • Have the ability to work autonomously
