BSLE Chair and Non-Executive Director

Who are we?

Borders Sport and Leisure Enterprises (BSLE) (SC244374) is the trading subsidiary of Live Borders, a registered charity (SC034227), and which supports the charitable goals and endeavours of the Trust. The commercial activities such as cafes, cinema and retail which we undertake are accounted for within BSLE.

As Chair you will play an important part in leading and governing the company, working with like-minded people who have a passion for our values and are fully committed to this leadership role.

The role

This unpaid non-executive role is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of those living in and visiting the Scottish Borders by supporting the commercial trading arm of the Live Borders charitable trust.

The successful candidate will be expected to Chair 2 board meetings per year with an additional AGM, and contribute to decision making and governance processes, including signing off accounts.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
