BSM Senior Manager - Funding & Liquidity

BSM Senior Manager – Funding & Liquidity

We’re looking for a highly experienced BSM Senior Manager – Funding & Liquidity to play a critical role in shaping and delivering our balance sheet strategy. As a recognised subject matter expert, you will drive safe and sustainable growth by optimising funding and liquidity outcomes, underpinned by robust risk management and regulatory compliance.

This is a high-impact leadership position, providing strategic insight to senior stakeholders while ensuring the business operates within its risk appetite in an evolving regulatory and economic landscape.

Working closely with the Head of Balance Sheet Management, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of key regulatory documents including ILAAP and Recovery & Resolution Planning (RRP)
  • Optimise funding and liquidity planning and performance, ensuring strong alignment with business strategy
  • Monitor market, regulatory, and economic developments, translating insights into actionable recommendations
  • Own and evolve risk management policies, controls, and risk appetite frameworks
  • Report liquidity positions and early warning indicators (EWI) to senior governance forums
  • Provide expert input into relevant regulatory disclosures
  • Partner with Product teams to ensure BSM considerations are embedded in new product design
  • Develop and maintain strong external relationships across industry bodies and peers
  • Lead contingency planning and ensure readiness for stress scenarios
  • Collaborate across Finance, Risk, and Commercial teams to align financial strategy with wider business objectives

What we’re looking for

  • Strong experience in a Treasury, Finance, or Balance Sheet Management leadership role
  • Deep expertise in Funding & Liquidity management within a banking or building society environment
  • Excellent understanding of balance sheet dynamics, ALM techniques, and financial markets
  • Proven ability to operate in a regulated environment with strong knowledge of key frameworks
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving capability, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to influence at Executive level and communicate complex issues clearly
  • A proactive mindset with ownership, initiative, and a passion for continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Degree educated (or equivalent)
  • Relevant Finance/Treasury professional qualification (desirable)
