Role Purpose
The Building Construction Manager will coordinate, control, and direct MEH (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC) discipline teams within a defined area/building. You will ensure:
- All installation activities are sequenced, aligned, and executed in accordance with the construction programme
- Highest standards of Health and Safety compliance and best practice
- Discipline teams are aligned to a single coordinated plan (PLOW)
- Activities are properly sequenced and buildable
- Workfaces are controlled, accessible, and ready for installation
Key Responsibilities
Coordination & Control of MEH Disciplines
- Direct and coordinate all MEH discipline teams (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC) within the assigned area
- Ensure alignment with a single coordinated plan (PLOW)
- Control interfaces between disciplines to prevent clashes, delays, and rework
Coordinated MEH Delivery
- Ensure all disciplines operate to a single aligned PLOW
- Deliver installation activities in the correct sequence and week

Schedule Adherence
- Maintain a high level of PLOW adherence
- Reduce out-of-sequence installations
- Minimise unplanned activities
Workface Readiness
- Ensure consistent availability and accessibility of workfaces
- Close prerequisites ahead of installation
Controlled Material Environment
- Locate and sequence materials correctly for installation
- Prevent unnecessary congestion within rooms
- Reduce re-handling and double handling
Effective Resource Utilisation
- Manage riggers for lifting and positioning activities
- Assign Material Controllers to track and control resources
- Use HSO/labour support for movement and housekeeping
- Avoid role crossover
Housekeeping Standards
- Maintain consistent housekeeping across workfaces
- Ensure clear and safe access routes
Constraint Removal
- Identify constraints early and resolve them promptly
- Reduce blockers impacting installation
Safety and Quality Performance
- Execute all works safely
- Drive right-first-time installation performance
- Ensure compliance with procedures and quality requirements
Productivity and Progress
- Maintain consistent installation progress across the area
- Improve output through effective coordination and sequencing
Key Requirements
- Degree or HNC/D, preferentially within a MEH discipline(s)
- SMSTS or CCNSG safety passport required
- Experience coordinating multi-discipline MEH installation within a defined area or building
- Proven ability to control construction activities in line with programme and sequence (PLOW or equivalent)
- Experience managing interdisciplinary interfaces to prevent clashes and rework
- Strong understanding of workface readiness and prerequisite coordination
- Experience managing materials in live construction and controlling material flow
- Ability to drive schedule adherence and planned installation performance
- Experience leading site-based teams and ensuring resource efficiency
- Background in large-scale, complex construction or infrastructure projects (preferably in Nuclear or highly regulated sectors)
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance in a controlled environment
- Hold or willing to achieve CSCS Manager and Professional (Black Card)
