Location
You will be expected to attend a Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.

This is an opportunity for a Class 2 A Registered Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control team and help deliver safe and compliant buildings.
The role involves a varied caseload of building control work, including:
- Dealing with diverse projects in urban and rural locations across the CBC area
- Hybrid working with a balance of local office hubs, site work, and home
- Collaboration in a supportive team environment with:
- Colleagues and less experienced team members
- Regulatory partners
- Applicants
- Enforcement of regulatory compliance
- Management of dangerous structures
- All aspects of Building Regulations

Ideal candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a degree (or equivalent qualification and experience) in Building Control Surveying or a related subject
- Be a member of a relevant professional institute
- Have relevant building control experience
- Possess strong communication skills
- Demonstrate experience working on a range of domestic projects, as outlined by their registration
We provide flexible and hybrid working arrangements, with the expectation that the role requires regular, possibly daily, site visits across the CBC area.
