Salary: £41,042 - £44,296 per annum pro rata - plus £6,500 Market Rate Supplement per annum pro rata
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: You will be expected to attend a CBC office location as often as needed to carry out your role, which will be no less than once per month.
Contract Type: Hybrid - Permanent
Closing Date: 31st July 2026

About the Role
This is an opportunity for a Class 2 A Registered Building Control Surveyor to join our Building Control team and to help us deliver safe and compliant buildings. The work involves a varied case load of building control work, dealing with varied projects in urban and rural locations around the Council area. We offer a hybrid working environment with a blend of local office hubs, site work and home working.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with colleagues, less experienced team members, our regulatory partners and our applicants.
- Deal with regulatory compliance, enforcement, dangerous structures and all aspects of Building Regulations.
- Regularly visit sites across the CBC area.

Qualifications
- Ideally have a degree (or equivalent qualification and experience) in Building Control Surveying or a related subject.
- Be a member of a relevant professional institute.
Required Skills
- Building control experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience and evidence of working on a range of domestic projects in line with your registration.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in a supportive team environment.
