- Salary: £29,744 to £32,328.27 (plus excellent benefits)
- Schedule: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm (30-min break)

About the Role

As a Building Craftsman in our Estates team, you’ll maintain and improve a vital healthcare environment, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and supportive of patient care every day. Your work directly contributes to a setting where lives are improved—every repair, every revolution you undertake matters.
Key responsibilities span planned maintenance and emergency repairs, ensuring operational efficiency and directly supporting patients, visitors, and colleagues. This dynamic role combines technical skill, problem-solving, and collaboration across teams, with visible outcomes that make a real difference.
Responsibilities
You’ll be entrusted with:
- Carrying out building maintenance and new works, adhering to high-quality standards
- Using your own initiative to diagnose and resolve building fabric issues efficiently
- Supporting other trades and collaborating across teams when needed
- Maintaining accurate records, including work logs, timesheets, and audit information
- Strictly following health and safety policies for safe working
- Participating in on-call rotas and responding to emergency repair needs when required
Requirements
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repair techniques
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and autonomously
- Excellent communication alongside a collaborative, flexible approach
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Critical:
- Basic DBS check required (in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
