Building Manager

Part-time (25 hours per week) | Fixed-term Contract

Are you an Assistant Building Manager ready to take the next step in your career?

Cobalt is working with a forward-thinking property consultancy and managing agent to appoint a Building Manager for a prestigious commercial office building in Central London. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile asset while developing your management experience within a business that invests in its people.

Working Monday to Friday, typically between 10am and 3pm, this role offers flexibility around working hours alongside the chance to build your career in commercial property management.

You'll also lead an Assistant Building Manager and Building Hosts, making this an excellent first Building Manager opportunity for someone looking to step up from an Assistant Building Manager position.

Responsibilities Include

  • Managing soft service contracts, including cleaning and security services.
  • Building positive relationships with occupiers, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Overseeing contractor performance, compliance and service delivery.
  • Managing planned and reactive maintenance alongside minor works projects.
  • Monitoring health, safety and statutory compliance across the building.
  • Supporting sustainability initiatives and maintaining environmental accreditations.
  • Managing occupier engagement activities and workplace initiatives.
  • Reviewing expenditure, validating invoices and supporting budget control.
  • Leading and supporting the onsite team to deliver a consistent customer experience.

To Be Successful As Building Manager, You'll Bring

  • Working knowledge of commercial building or facilities management.
  • Experience managing soft service contractors and service partners.
  • Knowledge of landlord and tenant relationships within commercial property.
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
  • Understanding of health and safety compliance within commercial buildings.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence leading or mentoring colleagues.
  • An interest in sustainability, ESG and workplace experience.
  • Membership of IWFM or a NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous.
