Building Performance Technical Manager
SES Engineering Services are looking for a Building Performance Technical Manager to join our team in Manchester, supporting projects across our North Region.

About The Role
Our Building Performance Technical Managers are a vital part of our technical community, ensuring the delivery of best-in-class building performance and building physics engineering across our bids and live projects.
In this role, you will act as a subject matter expert, driving performance-led design, supporting sustainability objectives, and ensuring technical excellence across multiple projects.
As Our Building Performance Technical Manager, You Will
- Act as a technical expert across bids and projects, ensuring compliant, innovative, and best-value solutions
- Deliver and review building performance analysis including energy, carbon modelling, and dynamic thermal simulation
- Support bid teams by developing technical strategies, identifying risks, and contributing to winning submissions
- Undertake project technical reviews to optimise performance, reduce risk, and drive value
- Manage and engage with specialist consultants to ensure delivery aligns with programme and performance requirements
- Provide technical assurance against certification schemes such as NABERS, BREEAM, WELL, and Passivhaus
- Collaborate with design, commercial, and project teams to embed performance strategies into delivery
- Support the development of building performance capability across the business through mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Contribute to the ongoing development of SES's building performance strategy and value proposition

What We Are Looking For
- Strong expertise in building performance, building physics, and performance-led design
- Experience in energy modelling, dynamic simulation, and carbon analysis
- Knowledge of certification schemes such as NABERS, BREEAM, WELL, or Passivhaus
- Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, environmental standards, and digital engineering practices (BIM, digital twins)
- Experience working across multiple projects in a technical leadership or coordination role
- Ability to influence design outcomes and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly
- Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience), with professional membership (e.g. CIBSE) desirable
