Job Overview
A multidisciplinary engineering consultancy based in Colchester is seeking a Building Physics / Sustainability Consultant. This hybrid role requires expertise in energy modelling, sustainability assessments, and UK building regulations, working across diverse developments alongside architects and engineering teams.
Role & Responsibilities
- Complete SAP, SBEM, and IESVE energy modelling
- Prepare CIBSE TM59 overheating assessments
- Produce daylight and sunlight assessments
- Support planning and technical design compliance
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams
- Attend client meetings and technical reviews
- Advise on Part L, Part O, NABERS, and BREEAM
- Contribute to the growth of Building Physics services

Skills & Experience Required
- Certification in Sustainable Design, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Building Physics or sustainability consultancy experience
- Proficiency in IESVE modelling
- Hands-on work with SAP assessments (Elmhurst software)
- UK Building Regulations and sustainability standards knowledge
- Strong technical report writing and communication
- Ability to manage projects and build client relationships
Salary & Benefits
- £40,000 – £55,000 (salary based on experience)
- Hybrid working (2 office days per week)
