About You We’re looking for a dynamic Team Lead – Building Physics to drive innovation, inspire technical excellence, and deliver impactful solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an opportunity to step into a leadership role where your expertise will directly influence how buildings perform, how teams collaborate, and how sustainability is embedded from concept through to delivery. Responsibilities In the role of Team Leader, we'll count on you to: Take responsibility for operations of production section including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities Be able to support technical delivery on projects to achieve technical excellence Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services with other sections Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews Be directly involved with industrial and public clients in marketing, project production and related issues See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system Implement, monitor and support company policy Select, train, develop and manage technical personnel Manage and develop multidiscipline teams Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts Structure training and succession of the teams to enhance performance and ensure future engineering expertise in Practice. Support the UK BES management team with delivery of business group and business class growth strategy Promote and lead execution of quality control activities. Maintain register and carry out Technical audits on projects as required. Undertake S&R activities on projects and where appropriate act as Discipline Lead or as a delegate to the Project Manager. Assist the Area Business Class Lead with attracting the best candidates to HDR using industry network and assisting with interviews and selection decisions. Assist the Regional Business Class Lead with ongoing control of in-house technical documents, specification, guides and strategy implementation.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience A minimum of 10 years’ experience in IES energy modelling, building psychics, NABERs Strong communication and listening skills Ability to handle multiple assignments Good leadership and organisational skills An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Current IES Software experience with experience in HVAC modelling, experience with SAP software and some wording around Nabers knowledge/experience Recommended accreditations: OCDEA and NDEA for EPCs, NABERS and BREEAM
