At Laing O'Rourke

We are looking for a detail-focused compliance professional who takes pride in high-quality inspection, clear records, and getting things right first time.

If you come from a Clerk of Works, Warranty Inspection, or Building Control background, this role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise on one of the UK's most significant healthcare construction programmes, with real influence over quality, safety, and assurance.

You will play a key role in supporting our statutory duties as Building Regulations Principal Contractor (BRPC), helping ensure that work is inspected, evidenced, and delivered in line with Part 2A of the Building Regulations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Acting as a trusted compliance lead on site, supporting delivery teams to meet BRPC duties during construction
  • Carrying out regular, risk-based inspections, with a strong focus on quality, workmanship, and compliance
  • Producing clear, auditable inspection records and ensuring issues are followed through to close-out
  • Working closely with Registered Building Inspectors and Building Control Approvers, including joint inspections where required
  • Promoting a robust inspection culture, where assurance is proactive rather than reactive
  • Supporting the assessment of contractor competence, ensuring those delivering work are suitably capable
  • Acting as a key liaison between client, designers and contractors to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities
  • Contributing to continuous improvement, sharing lessons learned and raising standards across the project

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
