Building Services Manager

Lady Eleanor Holles School

Hampton, South West London

£50,000- £55,000

You're the one everyone calls when something goes wrong. Isn't it time you were trusted to lead instead?

You're comfortable in a plant room. You understand compliance. You know when to fix a problem yourself and when it's time to bring in the right contractor.

Now you're ready for more responsibility, more influence and the opportunity to shape how an entire estate is managed.

At Lady Eleanor Holles School, one of the UK's leading independent schools, we're looking for a Building Services Manager to take ownership of our building services, compliance and technical projects across a beautiful 24-acre campus. This is your opportunity to step into a broader management role without losing the technical side of the job you enjoy.

  • You'll lead planned maintenance
  • Manage contractors
  • Drive statutory compliance
  • Deliver projects that genuinely improve the estate

But this isn't just a desk-bound compliance role. When something unexpected happens, you'll still enjoy getting out on site, solving problems and using your technical knowledge to keep the school running smoothly.

What makes this role different is the team around you. You'll work alongside an Estates Manager who understands building services, a supportive Facilities Manager and an outstanding Maintenance Supervisor. Everyone knows their role, everyone pulls together and everyone takes pride in maintaining an estate that supports one of the country's leading independent schools.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll be trusted to make decisions, encouraged to improve how things are done and given the support to succeed.

You might already be a Building Services Engineer, M&E Supervisor, Technical Services Supervisor, Maintenance Manager or Hard Services Facilities Manager who's ready for the next step. We're not looking for someone who knows everything. We're looking for someone who's technically confident, practical, organised and ready to take ownership.

In return, you'll receive:

  • A salary of £50,000-£55,000
  • 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • A 10% employer pension contribution
  • Free lunches
  • Free parking
  • Use of the swimming pool
  • Excellent professional development

Better still, the campus closes for around two weeks over Christmas, with routine checks covered by the caretaking team, giving you an extended festive break without using your annual leave except in exceptional circumstances.
