Building Services Manager

Galliford Try is seeking an experienced and motivated Building Services Manager to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate construction professional who is driven by excellence in quality, innovation, and sustainability.

In this role, you will play a key part in integrating best practice across all project stages working collaboratively with pre-construction, design, construction, and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is committed to delivering high standards through effective coordination and forward-thinking solutions. This position offers genuine autonomy, giving you the opportunity to contribute your expertise and add real value throughout the full project lifecycle.

Ideally, you will be based in or around the Bristol area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites projects in this Region.

What you will be doing:

As Building Services Manager you will manage the production of outsourced design and direct the design and installation of services and associated builders work to meet project targets of time, cost, and quality. You will manage the Mechanical and Electrical Services Consultants and Sub Contractors throughout the design, installation, and testing commissioning of the services installation. The role is for experienced M & E Managers who have the capability to take on greater responsibility. It can also be a developmental role towards a Senior M&E Manager position.

  • Be responsible for attaining the highest H&S standards on site.
  • Lead the site team by example and develop a positive H&S culture. To be measured monthly on H&S performance.
  • To review the safety and quality plan and ensure it meets the highest standards ensuring compliance with the GT business management system (BMS) and health, safety and environmental (SHE) standards.
  • Manage and develop the H&S plan (construction phase) specific to each project in conjunction with the planning supervisor and project manager. Then manage and develop the plan during the construction phase and be measured on performance.
  • Manage all discipline sub-contractors to produce a detailed contract programme for their respective works relating to the overall contract programme.
  • Ensure all discipline sub-contractors produce a weekly return of labour, plant and materials.
  • Develop a “Best Quality” culture with sub-contractors. Set high standards with regard workmanship. Accept only the best quality and reject inferior workmanship ensuring compliance with the GT BMS quality procedures.
  • Ensure all sub-contractors carry out their construction work in compliance with the Drawings and Specification.
  • Maintain a professional and co-operative relationship with all internal and external stakeholders through agreed GT PR procedures and the PR Co-ordinator.
