About the Role: Building Services Technician

This role supports the site Facilities Management team in maintaining buildings across Raytheon UK’s Glenrothes portfolio. Key responsibilities include:

  • Daily operational management of building services.
  • Visible and hands-on engagement with clients and internal teams.
  • Contributing to departmental excellence through strong relationship-building.

Job Level & Experience Requirements

This position suits candidates with experience in:

  • Facilities operations
  • Site maintenance support

Skills must align with building services disciplines and include academic qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds) or relevant industry experience.

Main Accountabilities

  • Comply with UK legislation and Raytheon standards.

  • Execute both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks.

  • Carry out minor installations and construction projects.

  • Collaborate extensively with:

    • Internal EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) teams
    • Other functional teams on-site
  • Address daily operations to meet customer and functional needs.

  • Manage contractors to support facilities/maintenance delivery.

Shift Schedule:

  • Alternates between rotational day shifts and night shifts.
  • Occasional weekends as required.

Skills & Requirements

Essential Knowledge & Experience

  • Recognised qualification (e.g., City & Guilds or SVQ Level 2/3) for building services/maintenance.
  • Proficient in all relevant UK facilities-based legislation.

Desirable Skills

  • Building management systems (BMS) knowledge (not mandatory).
  • Flexibility with shift work (weekends/overnights).
  • Forklift truck training certification (helpful but not required).
