The role
We’re looking for a hands-on Building Services Technician (M&E) to keep our sites running safely, efficiently, and without disruption.
This is a practical, site-based role where you’ll take ownership of mechanical, electrical, and building services systems — delivering both planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and improving how things run.
If you like solving problems, working with systems, and actually seeing the impact of what you do day-to-day — this is it.
What you’ll be doing
Delivering planned and reactive maintenance across M&E systems Diagnosing faults and fixing issues (and stopping them coming back) Monitoring BMS systems and responding to alarms and performance trends Managing work orders and asset data through CMMS Supporting statutory compliance (HVAC, water hygiene, pressure systems, etc.) Working with contractors on-site and holding standards Supporting small projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement work

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
