Key Responsibilities
The Development Unit of the BSD is tasked with delivering a new Compliance Plan Approach to evidencing compliance with building regulations. As Lead Policy Officer you will play a key role in the process of legislative change, from consultation to enactment.
- You will need to understand the processes involved in how groups respond to change and the factors which influence success.
- You will lead the gathering of feedback from local authorities and industry stakeholders, analysing it and presenting options for refinement.
- You will work as part of the compliance team to assess the requirements of guidance to support legislative change and deliver the documents for publication.

Qualifications and Experience
- You will be a qualified construction professional or equivalent with a solid understanding of the building standards system, building construction within the legislative framework set out by building regulations.
- Track record in engagement on initiatives designed to improve policy, project or service delivery and the successful delivery of such changes.
- Ability to lead and support teamwork on specific tasks as detailed in the team delivery plan.
- Excellent communication skills, with ability to convey complex information clearly, defend decisions and negotiate with confidence.
