About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Building Survey Lead to shape and grow our specialist building surveying and structural investigation capability within our Inspection Division. This is a unique opportunity to combine technical leadership with commercial development, helping define innovative inspection services while leading complex building pathology and condition assessment projects across a wide range of sectors.

This role would suit an experienced Building Surveyor or Building Surveying professional looking to take the lead in shaping a growing specialist service while combining technical expertise with strategic influence.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the development of our Building Survey team and technical standards.
  • Deliver and oversee complex condition surveys, structural investigations and defect diagnosis.
  • Develop innovative inspection methodologies using digital technologies including drones, LiDAR and thermography.
  • Support business development, bids and the creation of new inspection service offerings.
  • Act as the senior technical authority for building pathology and structural issues.
  • Mentor surveyors and help build a high-performing specialist team.
  • Review and sign off technical reports and project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Commercial and Delivery teams to support continued business growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying, Structural Engineering, Building Pathology or similar.
  • Chartered or working towards chartership (RICS, CIOB, IStructE, CABE or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in condition surveys, building pathology and structural investigations.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, structural systems and building regulations.
  • Experience leading technical teams or providing senior technical guidance.
  • Commercial awareness with experience supporting bids and client proposals.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with digital inspection technologies is highly desirable.
