An established FM business is seeking a Building Fabric Surveyor to support the delivery of condition surveys across a diverse property portfolio in Newcastle.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile assets, providing expert building condition assessments that help shape maintenance strategies, capital investment decisions, and long-term asset management plans.
The Role
As The Building Fabric Surveyor, You'll
- Carry out detailed building condition surveys across a variety of commercial properties.
- Assess the condition of building fabric, structural elements and external components, producing clear technical reports.
- Identify defects and provide practical recommendations for repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure surveys and recommendations align with client requirements.
- Manage survey programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Support quality assurance processes and ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and best practice.

Role
Provide technical advice to stakeholders to support informed asset management and lifecycle planning.
You
To be successful in the role of Building Fabric Surveyor, you'll bring:
- Previous experience carrying out building condition or fabric surveys within commercial, public sector or FM environments.
- Strong knowledge of building construction, defects diagnosis and fabric maintenance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- The ability to produce high-quality survey reports and technical recommendations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and project teams.
- A relevant qualification in Building Surveying or a related discipline is desirable.
