Location: Colchester area
Salary: up to £35,000 depending on experience
Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30am-5:00pm, Friday 8:30am-4:30pm (39.5 hrs/week)
Are you an experienced Measured Building Surveyor with a passion for laser scanning, CAD, and BIM? Our client is a well-established UK design and survey agency, delivering first-class solutions across retail, hospitality, hospitals, schools, airports, and more. This is a field-based role with travel across the UK and Europe, working on diverse projects and capturing high-quality survey data.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct measured building surveys using terrestrial laser scanning equipment across various sites.
- Process point cloud data and produce accurate CAD drawings and BIM models.
- Manage surveys from site handover to internal team, providing all relevant data for final deliverables.
- Travel efficiently across the UK and Europe, coordinating multiple client jobs per week.
- Communicate effectively with office teams, clients, and management.
- Identify potential survey challenges and implement solutions on site.

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience using laser scanning equipment for measured building surveys.
- Proficient in point cloud processing software (e.g., Cyclone Register, ReCap).
- Skilled in AutoCAD or Revit, drawing or modelling from point cloud data.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, able to plan multi-site surveys weekly.
- Excellent communication skills and professional on-site presence.
- Full clean driving license and valid passport for UK and European travel is essential
- Flexible to spend most of the working week away from home.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented.
