Building Surveyor – Southampton

In our multi-disciplinary, collaborative environment, you’ll manage client relationships while handling technical and legal challenges. Your role will involve supporting the Southampton-based building surveying team on Defence, Blue Light, Education, and housing projects, with project values ranging from £10k to £3million.


Your Role

  • Provide a range of building surveying duties across regional projects in multiple sectors
  • Apply standard building contracts, such as JCT and NEC
  • Understand quality, safety, and environmental principles in project survey, design, and management
  • Provide line management, mentoring, and training to junior building surveying staff
  • Support senior managers in day-to-day activities
  • Carry out surveys, inspections, schedules, and provide professional services
  • Manage regional schemes

About You

Key Requirements

  • B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or an RICS-accredited degree
  • Strong technical surveying knowledge and significant building surveying experience
  • Ability to manage clients with a commercial awareness and profitability focus
  • Expertise in drafting technical documents, including asset reviews, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings
  • Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements and statutory compliance
  • Excellent time management, punctuality, and commitment
