Please note: This role will initially be based in Bradford but will relocate to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026.

- Permanent, 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday)

Building Surveyor Role Overview
As part of our Estates Team, you will provide expert advice and delivery leadership across a diverse estate while collaborating across stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Expert Compliance & Property Advice:
- Support the Lead Building Surveyor on building compliance, valuations, and risk management

Proactive Building Management:
- Lead condition surveys, preventative maintenance, and inspections
- Identify defects and provide clear remediation recommendations

Contract & Litigation Support:
- Administer contracts for repairs, refurbishment, and disputes (e.g., party wall issues)
- Conduct dilapidations, reinstatement cost assessments, and licences for alterations

Feasibility & Project Scoping:
- Drive deliverable ideas for new projects (with future estate impact)
- Support CDM (2015) and Building Safety Act compliance as Principal Designer for key works

Site & Stakeholder Oversight:
- Ensure quality, progress, and safety on projects
- Coordinate with Project Delivery teams for technical, design, and construction support

Documentation & Strategy:
- Maintains key performance data and business strategy alignment
- Provides technical documentation for bills of quantities and estimates

Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certification
- Degree in Building Surveying or related field
- MRICS or MCIOB membership required
Core Competencies
- Full UK driving licence
- Intuitive grasp of building legislation, landlord obligations, and compliance
- Proven experience in building surveys (diverse site conditions)
- Proficient in building pathology analysis and defect identification
- Mastery of CDM 2015 regulations and project execution
- Strong health & safety knowledge (on-site management)

- Proactive teamwork with high customer focus
- Independent problem-solving while aligning with team goals
- Thrives under deadline pressure and managing multiple projects
