Job Description
Building Surveyor
London | Hybrid Working
Are you a Building Surveyor looking for greater project variety, genuine career progression, and the opportunity to work with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy?
We're working with an established consultancy that's continuing to invest in the growth of its Building Surveying team across London and the Southeast. Due to an expanding pipeline of work, they're looking to appoint an experienced Building Surveyor who enjoys working across both professional services and project delivery.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team where you'll work on a diverse range of projects spanning education, healthcare, commercial property, government, defence, infrastructure, and public sector estates.
No two days are the same, and you'll have the chance to develop your technical expertise while building strong client relationships and taking ownership of projects.
The Opportunity
As a Building Surveyor, you'll be involved in a broad mix of work, including:
- Delivering professional Building Surveying advice across a varied property portfolio.
- Carrying out condition surveys, defect analysis, and technical due diligence.
- Managing refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement projects from inception through to completion.
- Acting as Contract Administrator under JCT and NEC contracts.
- Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and technical reports.
- Working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Supporting junior surveyors while continuing to develop your own technical and commercial skills.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
