Essex County Council (ECC) are supporting Harlow Council to recruit a Building Surveyor (Damp & Mould) for a 12-month contract. Note: This post requires the successful candidate to be based on site a minimum of 4 days per week.
Harlow is a vibrant district with excellent facilities, shopping, leisure options, and strong transport links. It sits 35 minutes from London by rail and 20 minutes from Stansted Airport, with nearby access to the M11 and M25.

Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to lead damp, mould, and condensation diagnostics across our homes. Your role will include:
- Carrying out detailed on-site inspections
- Identifying root causes of damp/mould issues
- Producing clear, technical recommendations
- Specifying and overseeing remedial works
- Managing contractors to ensure high-quality outcomes
- Communicating supportively with residents throughout cases
