Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.

We are more than 36,000 people, in over 70 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.

Role description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our well-established Education Building Surveying team.

You’ll work with a variety of education clients across the UK, including universities, schools, trusts and government, delivering capital works and conducting condition surveys. We’re seeking someone with strong technical expertise and a broad building surveying background.

The role offers a diverse and varied workload, often requiring you to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You’ll focus on high-quality service delivery, working collaboratively within larger teams to achieve outstanding client outcomes. Confidence in direct client engagement is essential.

Effective time management is key, ensuring you meet deadlines and align your efforts with cost forecasts to maintain project profitability.

Role accountabilities:

The primary focus of this role is the successful delivery of capital works on educational assets. You will take on significant responsibility and accountability, with the opportunity to develop both managerial and technical skills, and advance your career within our dynamic and growing specialist team. Key responsibilities include managing and delivering professional consultancy commissions, such as condition surveys and, occasionally, dilapidations. You will ensure effective communication throughout each project, making certain that all necessary information is available for successful delivery. Working closely with Project Managers and Team Leaders, you will help maintain efficient financial control and provide a cost-effective service. You will keep the Sector Director regularly informed of contract progress with clear, quantified updates. Additionally, you will support the development of junior building surveyors through mentoring and supervision.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
