Building Surveyor | Bristol | Full Time | £28,000 - £36,000 per annum
Founded in 2019, our client is a Bristol-based Property and Construction Consultancy, providing Building Surveying, Project Management, and Sustainable Development Solutions to a range of private and public sector clients.
They specialise in delivering expert advice, managing construction projects, and ensuring high-quality outcomes for their clients, with a focus on the people who deliver these outcomes and the relationships they build in doing so. With a focus on professionalism, integrity, and client satisfaction, they aim to be a trusted partner in the construction industry across the South West and UK-wide.
The Role
Working from the Bristol office in our building surveying team, you will be involved in providing specialist advice across the full spectrum of building surveying services such as: managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, project management/contract administration, party wall advice, new build, renovations, and maintenance works.
Working across all sectors, you will be involved with a variety of high-profile clients across the South West and nationwide.

- Supporting directors in delivering business objectives
- Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships
- Delivering high-quality services and ensuring building surveying deliverables meet customer requirements
- Managing projects in accordance with business procedures
- Managing building surveying commissions including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects from feasibility through to handover and post-completion reviews
- Preparing and managing planned maintenance programmes
- Quality monitoring of construction projects
- Planning service delivery in conjunction with the Director
- Providing professional advice to clients and project team members
- Ensuring quantitative and financial information is checked before issue
- Remaining within role remit and seeking approval for additional responsibilities where required
- Producing and presenting to customers
- Managing service delivery for profit
- Advising directors of project issues, particularly those impacting PI insurance
- Identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth
Requirements
Essential
- Graduate or Assistant Building Surveyor with 1-3 years consultancy experience
- Ideally working towards APC
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to manage workload and multiple project instructions
- Strong attention to detail and professional approach
- Minimum 1 year of experience required (ideally 2-3 years preferred)

Desirable
- Progress towards APC with structured training underway
- Exposure to a broad range of surveying disciplines including dilapidations, party wall matters, and project management
- Experience managing or supporting small projects independently
- Interest in business development and client growth activities
