Fife Housing Group Dunfermline

Building Surveyor x 2

Salary £36,942

Location Dunfermline

This is a Permanent, Full Time vacancy.

The position

Do you want to make a difference? Then why not join an award-winning social housing provider that puts people first…

We are looking for two Building Surveyors to join Fife Housing Group. One role is within our Operations team and focuses on damp and mould. The other is within our Asset Management team and focuses on stock condition surveys and long-term investment planning.

For both roles, you will have an HNC/HND in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Building Services or a related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. A degree in Building Surveying is desirable but not essential.

You should also have experience working within a maintenance environment for a housing association or similar organisation.

Responsibilities

Although each role has its own primary focus, the two Building Surveyors will work closely together. Their responsibilities may overlap at times and they will support one another to help deliver an excellent service to our tenants. You should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:

Both roles

  • Providing proactive surveying services and identifying repairs and maintenance requirements in line with policies, procedures and service standards
  • Working with residents to provide advice, support and practical solutions to help maintain their homes
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating systems to support managers and wider teams
  • Monitoring contractors and the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) to ensure work is completed to a high standard, within budget and achieves excellent customer satisfaction
  • Preparing technical specifications and supporting procurement and project delivery from start to completion

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
