Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Building Surveyor role based in Covent Garden. The Building Surveyor will carry out condition surveys, defect analysis, and technical due diligence on a variety of commercial and residential properties.

Daily tasks include:
- Preparing clear and accurate reports
- Advising clients on building pathology and maintenance strategies
- Supporting refurbishment and repair projects from initial inspection through to completion

The role involves liaising with clients, design teams, and contractors, attending site meetings, monitoring works on site, and ensuring compliance with relevant building regulations and standards. The Building Surveyor will contribute to dispute resolution and expert witness work where required, while supporting the wider team with measurement, specification writing, and contract administration.
Qualifications
- Strong technical building surveying skills, including condition surveys, defect diagnosis, and building pathology.
- Experience with specification writing, schedules of work, and contract administration for refurbishment and repair projects.
- Knowledge of UK building regulations, construction standards, health and safety requirements, and compliance frameworks.
- Client-facing skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly in both written reports and verbal briefings.
- Organizational and project management abilities, including planning workloads, meeting deadlines, and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Relevant professional qualification, such as a degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline; MRICS or working toward chartership is highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in consultancy or a similar professional environment, ideally involving commercial and residential property.
- Proficiency in common surveying and office software (e.g., MS Office, measurement tools, and report-writing platforms).
- Ability to work on-site in Covent Garden on a regular basis and attend client meetings and site visits as required.
