Buildings and Services Manager
We are seeking an experienced and forward thinking Buildings and Services Manager to take on a newly created role within the College’s structure, providing senior operational leadership across our hard services operations. This is a significant opportunity to shape service delivery and support the long-term care, sustainability and performance of the College estate.

The Role
Reporting to the Director of Works, you will provide day to day operational leadership across plumbing, electrical and building trades, while working closely with other colleagues across the Works function, as well as across the wider College services and departments. The role will play an important part in developing a cohesive, sustainable and high performing approach to maintenance, asset management and statutory compliance across a complex, multi building environment.
You will lead and develop multi skilled maintenance teams, ensuring that reactive, planned and project led works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. With significant autonomy, you will help shape the future management of the College estate, supporting excellent services for the College community of students, Fellows and staff.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing operational leadership across plumbing, electrical and building works teams.
- Leading and developing senior trade specialists and their teams to support high-quality service delivery.
- Managing a core maintenance budget of approximately £2.8 million, including forecasting, monitoring and reporting.
- Leading and delivering Planned Preventative Maintenance programmes and supporting compliance with statutory requirements and SFG20-aligned guidance.
- Overseeing maintenance projects and minor capital works from planning through to completion.
- Supporting the ongoing development of CAFM systems and asset data to strengthen maintenance planning, reporting and compliance.
- Working with senior colleagues to support the development of the College Estates Management Strategy, including sustainability and heritage estate stewardship priorities.
- Promoting a safe and healthy working environment for staff, contractors, consultants and the wider College community, in line with statutory regulations.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced estates, facilities or building management professional with proven leadership experience in a complex, multi building environment. You will bring strong technical understanding, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to lead teams, manage budgets and deliver works safely and effectively.

The successful candidate will have experience of planned preventative maintenance, project delivery, compliance, health and safety, and the operational leadership of multi skilled teams. Strong planning, organisational and influencing skills will be essential, together with confidence in working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, consultants and a wide range of College stakeholders.

The salary for the post is within the range of £65,000-£70,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits including, subject to eligibility, a generous defined contribution pension scheme, free meals in College, a subsidised gym and, following satisfactory completion of the probation period, access to a cycle to work scheme and private healthcare.
Location
Due to the nature of the role, this position is based fully on site at Trinity College.
