Bulk Supervisor
Are you seeking a role in which you can develop your skills and experience and progress your career further into a supervisory role? Are you excited by the opportunity to lead and support other supervisors whilst also maintaining a hands-on role? We are seeking a Bulk Operations Supervisor to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving!
Your Role
In this role, you will oversee the safe and efficient operation of bulk handling and terminal operations, ensuring all activities are completed in line with company procedures and safety standards. You will be a working supervisor, responsible for your own team, coordinating their daily operational tasks, supervise loading and unloading activities, monitor plant and equipment performance, and ensure incidents, damages, and maintenance requirements are reported promptly. You will also support the achievement of operational targets while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
Appointment to this role will be subject to the successful completion of an enhanced DBS check.
What you'll bring
- Experience operating material handling plant and equipment, ideally in a port environment, but waste handling or similar would be considered.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office packages.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- Hold GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent).
- Experience operating Harbour Mobile Cranes, Wheel Loaders and Skidsteers desired.
- Experience with SCADA systems and continuous ship unloaders desired but not essential.
- Experience within rail operations, port environments and vessel operations desired but not essential.
- Ability to multi task and adapt in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly in written and verbal format to a spectrum of people.
- A strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, build positive relationships, and contribute to the achievement of team goals.
