Salary £23.26 ph · Based at our Exeter depot, located at Matford · Pay rate of £23.26 per hour · Shift pattern Sunday - Thursday Nights Looking for a hands-on mechanical role where your skills keep the community moving? We’re looking for a proactive and skilled Bus& Coach Technician to join our friendly team at Stagecoach Exeter. Whether you’re from a truck, HGV, automotive, plant, or rail background, this is your opportunity to work on a modern and varied fleet, including hybrid and electric vehicles, supported by ongoing training as technology and vehicle systems continue to evolve. What you’ll be doing: · Maintaining and repairing our fleet of buses to DVSA and Stagecoach safety standards · Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using diagnostic equipment including laptop · Completing the full range of mechanical repairs including major unit changes and engine repairs and overhauls, · Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, and roadside repairs · Supporting apprentices by sharing your knowledge and experience · Working safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative depot team What we’re looking for: · NVQ Level 3 in HGV or PSV Maintenance (or equivalent) · Hands-on experience working on commercial or specialist vehicles · Experience and competence in using modern diagnostic equipment · Electrical/electronic competence at a basic level · A safety-first attitude and strong attention to detail · A team player with good communication skills · Previous experience working on buses or large passenger vehicles (desirable) Why join Stagecoach? · Full training provided, including health & safety, equipment use and cleaning standards · Competitive hourly rates and opportunities for overtime · Benefits including generous pension scheme, 25 days holiday, free travel for you and a companion, and a wide range of discounts including retail & leisure · Career progression, many of our colleagues have grown into engineering, driving, and management roles · A supportive, inclusive working environment where your wellbeing matters Our working environment Stagecoach is proud to be an inclusive employer where everyone is respected and supported.
