Holy Trinity Catholic High School – Bus Driver
Job Summary
Holy Trinity Catholic High School is seeking a Bus Driver who supports the school’s mission by ensuring the safety of children during transportation to and from school and other events. The role aligns with the school’s philosophy and policies, involves decision-making, and is accountable to the principal. This position is critical for both operational and pastoral ministry within the Diocese of Austin.
Ministerial Character

- Supports school leaders in fulfilling their mission.
- Engages in ministry for the Church by upholding the school’s values and policies.
- Adheres to the Catholic ethical and moral standards set by the Bishop of Austin.
Each position at the school plays an inherent role in ministerial collaboration, contributing directly to the spiritual and educational mission of the institution.
Essential Duties
Spiritual & Operational Leadership
- Supports and advocates for the philosophy of Catholic education.
- Acts as a witness to Gospel teachings, embodying Catholic values.
- Aligns with the Code of Conduct, Diocesan policies, and school procedures.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding student and school matters.
Student Welfare & Safety
- Ensures safe, respectful, and orderly conduct of student riders.
- Communicates safety/discipline concerns to the principal promptly and constructively.
- Operates vehicles with high professionalism, demeanor, and work habits consistent with Catholic standards.

Transportation Duties
- Transports students to and from school and school-approved events while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
- Inspects vehicles prior to use, reports all incidents to the principal, and completes required documentation.
- Follows all emergency protocols and vehicle operation/organizational policies.
- Manages a schedule that guarantees maximum availability to students, staff, and school events.
Maintenance & Compliance
- Responds to the school’s vehicle maintenance/repair requests.
- Adheres to Diocese and school policies regarding student safety and vehicle usage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Key Requirements for the Role
- Strong understanding of motor vehicle laws and school policies/procedures.
- Ability to manage student behavior respectfully and effectively.
- Clear, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience in collaborative, team-oriented environments, particularly within faith-based institutions.
- Proven ability to respond composurely to crises and ensure safety at all times.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and adherence to high standards of operation.

Experience
- No prior experience necessary; enthusiasm, reliability, and dedication paramount.

Certifications & Training
- Valid Class B Driver’s License (must be unexpired and free from restrictions).
- Passenger (P) and/or School Bus (S) endorsements as determined by need.
- Clean driving record, free of significant violations.
- Completion of an Ethics & Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application within one week of employment.
- Collaboration in an EIM Basic Abuse Prevention workshop within 30 days of submitting the EIM application (mandatory for Diocesan positions).
- Continued compliance with EIM training and policies throughout employment.
Workplace Environment
- Capable of handling moderate to high stress conditions.
- Willingness to follow and announce fixed school schedules (students/staff operating hours).
- Adaptability to work in various environments, including buses and school buildings.
Employment Certification
- Alignment with Catholic Schools Standards of Conduct and Gospel teaching.
- Adherence to Diocese of Austin EIM policies as a fundamental requirement in serving the Diocese.
- Employment is at-will under Texas law; formal employment agreements are not guaranteed contracts.
