As a Business Account Manager, you will hold full ownership of the end-to-end journey for our large business customers. Acting as a dedicated partner, you will nurture long-standing relationships and use data-driven insights to manage portfolio health, drive retention, and deliver service that reflects our purpose-driven values.
Responsibilities
- Primary relationship lead: Serve as the main point of contact, managing day-to-day interactions and structured reviews to build long-term customer trust.
- Portfolio management: Oversee the full lifecycle from onboarding to renewal, using data and reporting to ensure account health and billing accuracy.
- Financial oversight: Proactively manage customers to ensure invoices are paid within terms, partnering with debt specialists when necessary to mitigate risk.
- Strategic growth: Align with Sales and Partnerships to maximise customer retention and deliver value that supports both customer goals and Good Energy’s mission.
- Commercial problem solving: Resolve complex queries by collaborating with internal specialists, balancing customer needs with broader commercial business interests.
- Operational excellence: Deliver against KPIs and team standards, identifying process efficiencies to support the business during periods of high growth.
- Knowledge sharing: Adapt to the evolving energy landscape by continuously developing your industry expertise and mentoring peers to maintain high team performance.

What you'll need to succeed
You’ll be an experienced and passionate Customer Service Advisor or Account Manager with experience of working with commercial customers or in the energy industry. You’ll have the ability to adapt to new situations every day, and the drive to succeed both personally and when supporting our customers.
Essentials
- A genuine interest in clean technology and a passion for driving the transition to renewable energy.
- Proven ability to build and maintain high-value, long-term commercial partnerships.
- Strong data literacy with the ability to solve complex billing or portfolio issues.
- Exceptional verbal and written skills, comfortable presenting to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Expert at prioritising a large portfolio and managing time effectively to meet strict KPIs.
- Quick to adopt new tools and a drive to find more efficient ways of working.
- A proactive team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and is comfortable working independently
- Confident travelling to meet clients in-person from time to time
Desirable
- Knowledge or experience of renewables, energy and microgeneration
- Worked with B2B customers previously
- Experience in managing customer relationships

Our office is based in Chippenham, Wiltshire. For this role, we're looking for candidates who can come in to our Chippenham office, once a Month based on location.
