About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Business Manager to support effective service delivery, governance, business planning, and service improvement across the Specialist Service Line.
Responsibilities
- Working with the Service Line Management Team, Clinical Managers, Matrons, administration leads, and corporate colleagues, you will provide business and administrative leadership, coordinate key meetings, maintain governance documentation, and support service improvement priorities.
- Line manage administrative staff, oversee administrative workstreams, support performance reporting, audit and governance activity, and help monitor agreed actions and project plans.
Requirements
- Experience in team management, business or performance processes, data analysis, report writing, and service development.
- Strong communication, organisational, and Microsoft Office skills are essential; NHS or mental health experience would be an advantage.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, bring structure to complex work, and support safe, effective, and high-quality services.
Role Details
The Business Manager is responsible for enabling the effective operation of the Service Line through high-quality administrative support to the senior leadership team. The post holder will have responsibility for line management of the service line admin staff and supervise the day-to-day functions of the admin function e.g. diary management, coordination, and administration of key service line meetings, ensuring issues are resolved promptly.

The post holder will ensure that core meeting documentation for key Service Line meetings are to the appropriate quality and standard and that storage of meeting documentation (minutes, agendas, action logs, etc.) are held centrally for audit and governance purposes.
The Business Manager will support the Service Line Management Team in the efficient and effective operational management of resources within the Service Line. The post-holder will support the development of key pieces of work such as the service line business plan and strategy documents under supervision.
The Business Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and/or oversight support for service line or Trust admin related projects, ensuring that these are delivered effectively, in line with expected project governance. This will include writing up project plans, overseeing project plans, overseeing implementation, ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed, and providing highlight reporting and/or feedback to key meetings where required.
