Business Administrator Location: Harpenden | Type: Permanent Hours: 15 per week

Spire Harpenden Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Business Administrator to join our team in a 15-hour per week contract.

This role supports the smooth operation of administrative and financial processes within the hospital, ensuring compliance and outstanding customer service for patients and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to patient queries professionally and compassionately, both via systems and face-to-face.
  • Process billing accurately and promptly, resolve queries, and liaise with internal teams and shared services.
  • Carry out cashiering duties, reconciliations, and post entries to accounting systems.
  • Coordinate payments for invoices, consultant fees, and patient refunds.
  • Monitor overdue vendor debt and support collection processes.
  • Provide general administrative support as required.

Education & Qualifications

  • GCSEs (grades A–C) in English and Maths.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong numeracy and Excel proficiency.
  • Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, or basic accounting experience (advantageous, but not essential).
