Business Administrator Location: Harpenden | Type: Permanent Hours: 15 per week
Spire Harpenden Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Business Administrator to join our team in a 15-hour per week contract.
This role supports the smooth operation of administrative and financial processes within the hospital, ensuring compliance and outstanding customer service for patients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patient queries professionally and compassionately, both via systems and face-to-face.
- Process billing accurately and promptly, resolve queries, and liaise with internal teams and shared services.
- Carry out cashiering duties, reconciliations, and post entries to accounting systems.
- Coordinate payments for invoices, consultant fees, and patient refunds.
- Monitor overdue vendor debt and support collection processes.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
Education & Qualifications
- GCSEs (grades A–C) in English and Maths.

Desired Skills & Experience
- Strong numeracy and Excel proficiency.
- Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, or basic accounting experience (advantageous, but not essential).

Working Pattern
- Part-time (15 hrs/week) with flexible play, including options for 2-3 days/week (e.g., longer/shorter shift options).
- Working days align with business needs and candidate availability; no fixed schedule yet.
