Business Administrator (Rotational) – HM Prison Hull, HU9 5LS
Overview
Job holders within this Group Profile provide administrative support to managers and frontline staff by undertaking transactional work in specific operational areas of a HMP.
This is a non-operational role, which may involve indirect or necessary contact with prisoners, depending on the area of work. There are no line management responsibilities attached to this position.

The rotational nature allows career progression across multiple specialisms.
Key Responsibilities
Typical tasks include:
- Organising, producing, and maintaining accurate records for assigned areas
- Acting as the contact point for all team communications
- Prioritising queries and distributing them to relevant personnel
- Completing monitoring returns, requisition processing, and financial database inputs (including finance reconciliations)
- Coordinating awareness sessions and professional training
- Preparing and checking paperwork for managerial review
- Corresponding with stakeholders (internal/ external) to ensure smooth information flow
- Managing databases, filing systems, and informational logs with strict adherence to timescales
- Collating data for Service Delivery Indicators (SDIs)
- Secretary duties for meetings including agenda prep, taking minutes and distributing action plans

Working Conditions (37 Hour Working Week)
📍Location: HM Prison Hull.
🕒 Shift patterns vary depending on PRISIPS (Prisons Services) needs; this is a role characterized by potential rotational shifts, should establishment requirements demand it.
Allowances & Benefits
💵 Competitive Remuneration: £29,107 plus pension contributions from HM Prison and Probation Service, adding £8,432 for a Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme member. 🏷 Pension Contribution: 28.97% (high-value employer top-up)
