Business Administrator - HMP / YOI Norwich (Ref: 19585)

Administrative Support Role HMP Norwich, NR1 4LU 37-hour working week

About the Role

Job holders within this Group Profile provide essential administrative support to managers and frontline staff by managing transactional work within specific areas of the operation. Success requires competence in core administrative tasks—specific qualifications or training will be outlined in the matched job description.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Record-keeping & Communication

    • Organise and maintain accurate records for their operational area.
    • Serve as the primary liaison for all communications within the team.
    • Prioritise and distribute correspondence to appropriate personnel or departments.
  • Operational & Scheduling Tasks

    • Complete monitoring returns and input requisitions to finance systems.
    • Process supply requisitions for designated areas.
    • Coordinate awareness/liaison events for relevant stakeholders.
  • Record Management & Reporting

    • Update and audit databases, manual filing systems, and logs within SLA timescales.
    • Produce reports directly tied to SDI metrics.
    • Attend and support meetings as secretary (preparing agenda, distributing minutes, tracking action items).

Essential Qualifications
