Business Administrator
Business Administrator (Part-Time) | Spire Harpenden Hospital
Location: Harpenden Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 15 hours per week (highly flexible to suit individual needs)
About the Role
Spire Harpenden Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Business Administrator to support the smooth running of administrative and financial processes within the hospital. This role will ensure compliance with Spire procedures while delivering exceptional service to patients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to patient queries professionally and compassionately (both system-based and face-to-face)
- Process billing accurately and promptly, resolving queries and liaising with internal teams and shared services
- Carry out cashiering duties, reconciliations, and post entries to accounting systems
- Coordinate payments for invoices, consultant fees, and patient refunds
- Monitor overdue vendor debt and support the collection process
- Provide general administrative support as required

- GCSEs (grades A–C) in English and Maths

Skills & Experience
- Strong numeracy and Excel proficiency
- Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger, or basic accounting experience (desirable but not essential)

Working Pattern
This is a part-time position (15 hours per week) with flexible hours. The role operates within standard office hours (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM), but we welcome:
- 2 or 3 days per week (with adjustable shift lengths)

Working patterns will align with business needs and candidate availability once agreed.
