Do you have experience in administration with a range of systems and are you a communicator and someone who can work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage competing demands? If so, we would love to hear from you.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the East Sussex Education Division, for the role of a full-time Business Administrator within the Education Support Admin Team based at Cavendish House in Hastings. We are part of a Local Authority dedicated to championing change for children.

You will play a key role in supporting the Council - helping us provide a better service to the people of East Sussex. It’s fast-paced and varied, but we’ll make sure you get all the training and support you need to succeed.

Our administrative team provides support across a wide range of services, including Educational Psychology, SEND Early Years, Communication, Autism, Mental Health Support, School Attendance, and Behaviour. In this role, you’ll contribute to all these areas, offering a valuable opportunity to gain insight into the East Sussex Education Division while applying your existing skills and developing new ones. We are looking for candidates who has:

  • The ability to effectively prioritise a diverse workload to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate effectively to a range of people, including the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
  • The ability to work in a team and maintain team connectivity when working remotely.
  • Understanding of confidentiality.
  • The ability to demonstrate resilience with the ability to cope and recover from setbacks or deal with challenging situations.

This post will be based at County Hall, Lewes.

Interviews are scheduled for Tuesday 11 August 2026 and will be in the form of a face-to-face interview, followed by a task. These will be held at County Hall, Lewes.
