Business Analysis Lead – Technology Department


About the Role

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Business Analysis Lead to join their Technology department at their global Head Office in Prescot, Liverpool.

We are seeking a versatile leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering impactful business outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the dynamic blend of leading a team and remaining hands-on with critical projects. You will champion best practices while fostering a culture where your team can thrive, setting high standards through your own performance and mentorship.

Key opportunities in this role:

  • Shape and lead high-impact initiatives, including:
    • Our Quote-to-Cash programme
    • Modernisation of in-house applications
    • Data and platform projects

    • 3 days in-office
    • 2 days remote
  • Within a close-knit team of developers and IT professionals for seamless collaboration

Do You Have What It Takes?

To excel at Alfred H Knight, you must act as a bridge between business needs and technical solutions. Your role involves translating requirements into actionable strategies.


Responsibilities

Essential Knowledge and Work Experience

  • Empowering Leadership:
    • Lead the Business Analysis "Chapter", mentoring and coaching a team of business analysts (BAs).
    • Foster career development and professional growth within the BA function.
  • Analytical Excellence:
    • Drive evidence-based problem-solving with clear recommendations for change.
    • Mastery of problem domain analysis and stakeholder needs.
  • Methodology and Standards:
    • Deep expertise in Business Analysis (BA) methodologies across Agile and Waterfall environments.
    • Experience using modelling languages such as:
      • UML (Unified Modelling Language)
      • BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation)
  • Project Lifecycle Experience:
    • Leading workshops to gather and define user stories/use cases.
    • Managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure seamless handover and solution alignment with business outcomes.

Required Work Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a business analysis role (or equivalent activities).
  • Proven track record of collaborating with stakeholders to shape business cases and feasibility studies.
  • Preferred: Experience in Agile environments with familiarity of tools like Asana or Jira.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum degree level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred: BCS certifications.
