Business Analyst

Business Analyst – Central Government Transformation Programmes

Performing this role in support of a key public sector organisation, you’ll play a critical part in shaping requirements, improving processes, and ensuring successful delivery across high-profile programmes.

Role Overview

  • Location: Westminster (2 days per week onsite)
  • Package: £500 per day (Inside IR35 via Umbrella Company)
  • Security Clearance: Eligible for UK Eyes Only (Sole British)
  • Industry: Central Government

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Gather, analyse, and document business requirements across complex transformation programmes.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to assess current processes, identify improvements, and define future-state operating models.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement sessions to drive clarity and consensus.
  • Produce high-quality business analysis documentation, including:
    • Process maps
    • Requirements specifications
    • Impact assessments
  • Support procurement and implementation activities for security-related technology platforms within one programme area.
  • Analyse and enhance employee lifecycle processes, including joiner, mover, and leaver workflows within a separate business change initiative.
  • Work with technical teams, delivery managers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with operational and strategic objectives.
  • Assist with change impact assessments and support adoption of new processes and technologies.

Main Skills Needed

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in Central Government environments.
  • Strong expertise in:
    • Requirements gathering
    • Process mapping
    • Business process improvement
  • Experience working on large-scale business change or transformation programmes.
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting:
    • Procurement activities
    • Technology implementations
    • Operational process redesign
  • Strong documentation, workshop facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of governance, compliance, and delivery frameworks within the public sector.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK Eyes Only clearance.
  • Sole British nationality is essential.
