We are seeking a talented individual to join a pivotal Tech SME team, where you will be instrumental in shaping the future of global operational strategies. This is an exceptional opportunity to make a tangible impact, solving ambiguous problems, influencing critical business decisions, and driving continuous improvement across a diverse and geographically dispersed team. You will be at the heart of optimising vast logistical networks, ensuring precision and efficiency across millions of daily deliveries.
This is a 6-month contract, offering up to £345 per day – 40 hrs/week (PAYE). The role is fully on-site from offices in London Barbican or Manchester. The extension is unlikely. Key Responsibilities
- Solve complex, ambiguous problems by identifying, scoping, and delivering end-to-end analytics solutions, making sound trade-offs between short-term and long-term needs.
- Influence organisational strategy by generating data-driven recommendations that directly inform business decisions and contribute to strategic planning.
- Drive operational excellence through improving, streamlining, and eliminating excess processes, working with data owners to onboard new sources, validate accuracy, and guarantee data fidelity.
- Lead programs designed to drive long-term decisions and actions, often collaborating across the organisation to achieve specific goals.
- Communicate effectively with senior leadership through crafting detailed analytical reports and presenting insights to leaders and cross-functional teams, fostering constructive dialogue and building consensus.
- Mentor and develop analytical talent, providing peer reviews, constructive feedback, and contributing to growth assessments.
- Champion data quality by proactively monitoring metrics, collaborating with data owners to enhance coverage and quality, and modelling best practices in analysis design and delivery.
Candidate Requirements
This role is for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can independently define problems and design solutions, and communicates data-driven recommendations with clarity and impact. You will have exposure to senior leadership, influencing discussions and presenting your recommendations to directors and vice presidents.

Required Skills & Experience
- Advanced SQL: Must be comfortable writing complex joins, aggregations, and subqueries.
- Advanced Database Optimisation: Expertise in query optimisation and data cleansing.
- Intermediate Systems Architecture Comprehension: Understanding of the technical architecture of integrations, including RESTful APIs, JSON/XML data formats, and basic system interaction flows.
- Prior experience working with large datasets.
- Extensive SQL experience.
