Technical Business Analyst (Data)
£400 per day | Outside IR35 | Initial 6-Month Contract | Hybrid - London (2 days per week) | Early August Start
I'm recruiting for a Technical Business Analyst (Data) to join a leading consultancy delivering a large-scale cloud data transformation programme for a global enterprise.
This is an opportunity to work at the heart of a modern data platform, partnering with data engineers, architects and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data solutions across cloud, analytics and migration initiatives.
The Role
You'll be responsible for translating business requirements into technical deliverables, working within Agile teams to define user stories, acceptance criteria and data requirements while supporting the delivery of enterprise-scale data products.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document business and technical requirements.
- Write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria and support Definition of Done.
- Work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects and stakeholders throughout delivery.
- Analyse complex datasets using SQL to support business decisions and data validation.
- Define data mappings, business rules and transformation logic.
- Support large-scale data migration and modernisation programmes.
- Ensure solutions align with data governance, security and GDPR requirements.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies within Scrum/Kanban delivery teams.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Data Business Analyst.
- Strong SQL and data analysis skills.
- Experience delivering data warehouse, analytics or enterprise data platform projects.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, data modelling and ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience writing user stories and acceptance criteria in Agile environments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge of data governance, security and GDPR principles.

Contract Details
- £400 per day
- Outside IR35
- Initial 6-month contract
- Early August start
- Hybrid working – minimum 2 days per week onsite in London
- Interview process via the consultancy
