Business Analyst
Business Analyst
Location: Hybrid / London Based / Insurance (Lloyd’s/Company Market)
We’re partnering with an established insurance organisation undergoing major transformation in digital and data. They need an experienced Business Analyst who can bridge the gap between business needs and technology teams to ensure ROI from applications and data investments.
About the Role
This critical role spans application development and data functions, overseeing projects from early ideation through post-implementation adoption. You’ll:
- Define business needs, draft clear requirements, and embed technology solutions in strategic and day-to-day operations
- Align delivery teams with real-world business outcomes
- Drive measurable value throughout the project lifecycle
Key Responsibilities
Project & Business Case Development
- Partner with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and technology solution options
- Build business cases, including cost-benefit and financial/non-financial impact analysis
- Design benefit realisation tracking frameworks and post-delivery measurement strategies
Requirements & Application Delivery
- User story mapping, acceptance criteria, process flows, and requirement documentation
- Keep Agile tools updated (e.g., backlog refinement) to ensure seamless development handovers
- Liaison between business and tech teams: run workshops, sprint ceremonies, and UAT sessions
- Develop, validate, and coordinate test scenarios, defect management, and stakeholder sign-off

Data & Information Management
- Document data requirements, definitions, and governance controls
- Assess system-level impacts and their reporting cascades
- Collaborate with analytics teams to refine reporting logic, data definitions, and best practices
- Maintain consistent data quality and drive standards across the organisation
Business Process Improvement (BPM)
- AS-IS process mapping with impact assessment for gaps and optimisation opportunities
- Design and validate TO-BE processes in alignment with stakeholders and architects
- Conduct gap analyses across people, process, and technology frameworks
Change & Business Readiness
- Evaluate readiness for implementation through assessments and adoption plans
- Produce counter-change impact reports, readiness checklists, and stakeholder communications
- Create user-facing documentation—guides, release notes, quick reference materials

Experience Required
Core Competencies
✔ 5+ years as a Business Analyst in technology/digital/insurance environments ( preferred emphasis: Lloyd’s/Company Market) ✔ Certification required:
- BCS, PMI-PBA, or equivalent
- Experience across application development and data/analytics initiatives
- Requirements management skills:
- User stories, BRDs/FRDs, BDD (Behaviourelayer-driven development)
- Process modelling: BPMN
- Agile/Scrum proficiency (DevOps and/or Jira/Azure DevOps) in enterprise environments
- Business case analysis, cost-benefit modelling, and financial impact quantification
- Technical organisational skills:
- Relational databases, SQL basic/is:
- Analytics tools: Power BI, Tableau

- Analytical mindset paired with stakeholder engagement acumen (gaining buy-in at all levels)
