Business Analyst

Location: Birmingham or Manchester or Cardiff
Job Type: Permanent

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join a collaborative and established Business Analysis team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of IT initiatives, partnering with stakeholders to deliver business change and technology solutions that drive measurable value.

You'll work closely with business and technical teams to define, analyse, and manage requirements across multiple concurrent projects. The role spans the full project lifecycle, supporting initiatives across data, applications, and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage business analysis activities across multiple projects.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and business outcomes.
  • Identify and document business requirements using appropriate analysis techniques.
  • Develop business cases and support investment decisions.
  • Analyse and optimise business processes to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Support business change activities and ensure successful adoption of new solutions.
  • Maintain requirements traceability from business need through to delivered benefits.
  • Contribute to test planning and support system and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Monitor and support benefits realisation following project delivery.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Lead Business Analysts to determine the most appropriate analysis approach.
  • Facilitate workshops and complex stakeholder discussions.
  • Influence decision-making and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deliver presentations and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across business processes and project delivery.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Business Analyst, ideally within IT, legal, or financial services environments.
  • Strong understanding of the full business analysis lifecycle.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and managing business and functional requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently at all organisational levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce clear, high-quality documentation, process maps, and presentation materials.
  • Experience identifying technical challenges and working collaboratively to resolve them.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and delivering across concurrent projects.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and focused on delivering business value.

Desirable

  • Experience working within Agile or other project delivery methodologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale business transformation or process improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with third-party suppliers or offshore development teams.
  • Experience within a professional services, legal, or financial services environment.
