Senior Business Analyst – Trading Technology
The Opportunity
A leading financial markets technology organisation is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join its Product Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of business, technology and electronic trading, helping shape and deliver innovative solutions for global financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyse and document complex business requirements, translating stakeholder needs into clear technical solutions.
- Work closely with engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle, creating user stories, epics and detailed acceptance criteria.
- Manage delivery of product initiatives, including project planning, timelines, dependencies, risks and escalation points.
- Collaborate with internal teams including technology, operations, compliance, surveillance, sales and client management.
- Contribute to product roadmap development and support the delivery of strategic business priorities.
- Support client onboarding through creation of training materials, documentation and product guidance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology solutions and delivery frameworks.
- Assess project risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Maintain high standards of documentation, including technical specifications and API documentation.

Experience Required
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working as a Business Analyst delivering technology solutions within financial markets, ideally across electronic trading or exchange environments.
- Strong understanding of traded asset classes, particularly equities and related financial products.
- Experience gathering requirements and working with software engineering teams within Agile/Scrum environments.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation, including requirements, specifications and API documentation.

Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Electronic trading platforms or exchange technology.
- Ultra-low latency distributed computing environments.
- FIX protocol and market data systems.
- Networking concepts including TCP/UDP and multicast data delivery.
- Linux-based infrastructure and distributed server environments.
- Working within highly regulated financial services environments.
- Wireframing and supporting UI/UX development.
